FOREST HILLS INFORMATION (UPDATED AUGUST 20, 2011)
Starting Monday, August 22nd, Forest Hills will open from 3 to 8 on the weekdays. Weekend hours will remain the same (11 to 8 on Saturday and 1 to 8 on Sunday).
Dear
Forest Hills Member:
The
weather is finally getting warmer and the pool season is almost here.
We would like to thank everyone for joining Forest Hills in the past
because we realize there are other pools available. Your support
allows us to continue to upgrade the facilities and we look forward
to your support this year.
In
2011, we are excited because the majority of our experienced staff is
returning. Erik will be leading our pool staff with many of
returning guards and some new ones. Most of the new guards you will
know because they are Forest Hill members. We are pleased that
everyone can return. An experienced and trained staff helps make
Forest Hills the best pool around.
We
will be continuing our activities to upgrade your pool facilities. We
are committed to always improving the club each year. Your comments
are an important part of this process, and we encourage your input. My
email address is mlynch1423@aol.com. Forest Hills is your Swim Club and your suggestions
are important.
Our
swim team is hard at work planning and coordinating with the other
pools and the Roanoke Valley Aquatic Association (RVAA) concerning
swim meets, city/county championships as well as organizing for
splash nights, ice cream parties and other fun-filled activities to
make for a successful year. Swimming is the best sport for children
and adults alike to come out and get some exercise. We
want to encourage all members to come out and participate with our
swim team. In an effort to support this cause we are waiving the
swim team registration fees for this year for all new swimmers and
returning swimmers as well as any swimmers who move over from other
clubs. Erik Largen will be
leading the
finest coaching staff in the valley. Rebecca Muzzy will be managing
our team. Stephen McTigue will be helping when he can but his work
schedule will not allow him to manage. We need swimmers and your
support to have a great swim team season. Everyone will be asked to
help Rebecca with the volunteer positions to run the swim team. A
handful of people can not do it all. If everyone will do a little then it is not a huge
burden on a few
people.
The
pool will open May 28 and follow the Roanoke County School Schedule.
The normal pool hours once school is out will be Monday through
Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The website and FACEBOOK will contain all the pool and swim team
information as well as updates during the summer. The address is foresthillsswimclub.com. The website will contain all the forms and
information you may need. The pool and the office number is
540-776-8501. The
pool fees and swim team fees will be the same as last year except for
the free swim team registration fee mention above. As in the past, members
will
be
asked
to
sign-in
at
the
front
desk
when
you
enter.
